10. Iron Man's Post-Credits Scene Introduces Nick Fury

Cinema-goers who stayed until the end of the first Iron Man were given quite the treat. After minutes of finishing snacks and discussing Tony Stark’s decision to announce his identity to the world, up popped Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Not only did we get to see Fury in all his cinematic glory (Jackson was even sporting the character’s famous black eyepatch) but we also got our first hint that an Avengers movie could genuinely be happening.

Fury talked to Stark and told him that he wanted to inform him about the Avengers Initiative. At this point there was no Captain America, no Thor and literally nothing to suggest when it would be released. But damn, Fury had mentioned the word Avengers.

And for the next four years, that's pretty much all any Marvel movie fan could think of.
