Avengers: Infinity War fast approaches, but before it lands in cinemas, our rewatch of every single Marvel Cinematic Universe movie continues with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Released almost exactly a year ago, James Gunn's highly-anticipated sequel didn't land with quite the same uproarious freshness as its predecessor, but it's still for the most part a well-crafted, worthy follow-up that avoids the pitfalls which made the likes of Iron Man 2 and Thor: The Dark World mere also-ran sequels.

Scoring a cool 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing a ludicrous $863.8 million worldwide, Vol. 2 bolstered the Guardians as a top-shelf blockbuster property, with every possibility that the inevitable Vol. 3 could nudge the series past the $1 billion mark (if not exceedingly close to it). Not bad at all for a franchise that many commentators originally assumed would bomb at the box office, right?
