Confirmed By: THR reports that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing the villain in Homecoming sequel Far From Home

One of the excellent Spider-Man villains who hasn't yet been given the big screen treatment, Mysterio is an intriguing pick for the Homecoming sequel.

A character who wears a fishbowl helmet and a cape, he's a special effects technician who becomes a criminal, using his skills to become a master of illusion who fights Spidey with his trickery rather than relying on brawn.

That should make for something different, but it's the presence of Gyllenhaal that elevates this even further, and it's exciting to think what he'll do as a supervillain.
