2. The Hulk Comes Home

Peter David's Hulk remains today as being one of - if not the - greatest Hulk runs of all time. What he achieved in #377, however, is something the MCU must surely be looking to replicate, especially with Mark Ruffalo's talents on call.

The issue in question involved Bruce Banner merging both elements of his 'Hulk' persona - the Grey and Green - into one being, allowing him the strength of the Green Hulk with the nous and articulation of his Grey counterpart.

Apart from the fact it formed a precedent that would last years, David's Hulk totally redefined the character. While we can't expect to see any solo movies revolving around the jolly green giant in the future (those onscreen rights are in a convoluted place, sadly), Ruffalo has spoken of how the character will be making plenty of appearances throughout the Marvel Universe going forward, something that he hopes will equate to a sort-of solo movie.

If one of those appearances brings us this moment, with Banner returning home to Betty Ross more articulate than ever, then that'd be brilliant.
