MCU Phase 4: 10 Marvel Movies Taika Waititi Should Direct
10. Thor 4
This one’s a no brainer before we get into the more exciting (but in all honesty, less likely) picks. Having done such a superb job on Ragnarok, if he wanted to be back at the helm for Thor 4, Marvel would surely have no objections.
What’s most impressive about Thor is how it managed to be a soft reboot that still managed to continue the trilogy and link seamlessly into the ongoing universe, leading into Avengers: Infinity War.
After Thor’s debut movie and follow up The Dark World were both relatively boring duds, Waititi was ruthless with his changes. Everything considered deadwood was dropped, and the movie felt so much fresher for it.
With the fourth movie, there’ll be less of that needed, as pretty much everything hit the mark in Ragnarok. Hulk could move on to pastures new, and Thor’s people will need to find a new home, but the rest of the established themes, characters and plot from Ragnarok can remain. If he feels like pushing the boundaries again, he might even bring in Lady Loki.
Of course, if he wants to get really off the wall with the Thor universe, he does have other options...
