10. Peter Parker Dies... At Least In The MCU

Peter Parker needs to die. Or at least the MCU needs to believe that this Spider-Man is truly dead.

This is obviously a problematic scenario for fans, the storyline, and the potential financial gains for Marvel/Sony, but Peter Parker cannot be "alive" once Phase 5 comes to an end. From a logistics perspective, the MCU will already be juggling too many new characters, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four. There will be too many new toys to play with and not enough room in the sandbox (or the budget).

Looking at it in terms of storyline, Peter Parker has been outed by Mysterio and will seek likely safe haven. Even if someone like Matt Murdock convinces the public that Parker is innocent (fingers crossed Daredevil makes his way into Spider-Man 3) Spider-Man will still find himself on a most-wanted list.

While he may be part of the next group of Avengers, Peter Parker's stories are best told when he's the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He needs a break from being in the (storyline) spotlight and "killing" him is an effective way to move focus to another hero and potentially bring Parker back in a refreshing way in subsequent Phases.
