20. Captain Marvel

It absolutely wouldn't have been the right direction for the costume, but at one stage of the concepts for Captain Marvel, she could have worn this more understated, primarily blue jump-suit style uniform.

In the end, the decision to go a little more traditionally cosmic and to channel the comics more is much better. The red and gold elements really make the design.

At one point, Marvel almost had her famous sash from the comics (which randomly turned up in Infinity War on Cull Obsidian's heavy axe for some reason), but it was dropped before she came to the big screen.

Maybe it was just too impractical and they went for an Edna Mode-style "no capes" rule?
