MICHAEL CLAYTON gets re-release
If you live in the U.S, you are going to be privileged with a second chance to see MICHAEL CLAYTON in cinema next week, as it's being re-released in around 1,000 locations across North America on January 25th. The Warner Brothers movie written and directed by Tony Gilroy was one of the most consistently cited movies in critics top ten lists of the best films of 2007. The decision to re-release the drama is pretty consistent with the kind of studio decisions made to give outsider-flicks some Oscar buzz in the run up to the ceremony and to try and boost the box office of a film that maybe wasn't as big a success as it should have been the first time round.

When it first went wide on October 12th 2007, the Warner Brothers movie finished a disappointing fourth for the weekend with a $10 million taking, dragging behind TYLER PERRY'S WHY DID I GET MARRIED and even the badly reviewed thriller WE OWN THE NIGHT (although only by a whisker with that movie). The film did stick around longer than expected though and finished it's domestic run at around $39 million, and did pretty well oversea's. The small release might also help the DVD release of the film, currently set to be released on Region 2 and Region 1 DVD on February 18th and 19th respectively. source - coming soon
