Morbius Trailer Review: 5 Ups & 1 Down

3. Morbius' Comic-Accurate Appearance

Okay, so maybe this one's cheating a little because the image surfaced before the trailer but, given that the very same shot is in the trailer, it's worth giving a big thumbs up to.

While Jared Leto was always going to look the part as Morbius (yes, yes we know - we thought the same thing about his Joker), there was always the chance that somebody somewhere thought it would be a good idea to reintroduce the world to the character with drastic redesigns (again, Joker). However, judging by that terrifying glimpse of him in the trailer, that thankfully didn't happen.

With his long hair (obviously), pointed nose and blueish skin, Leto's Morbius looks surprisingly comic-accurate - while also resembling the version from the 1994 Spider-Man animated series (you know, minus the bloodsucking hands) - and that's a major victory for the film heading into its release.

Let's just hope the substance is worth all this style.
