10. Gatto

Since the onset of the pandemic Pixar has continually struggled to find commercial success with its original, non-franchise projects, and their next film hoping to buck the trend is Gatto.

Gatto is set in Italy's Venice and follows a black cat, Nero (Mark Ruffalo), who begins to question whether he's living the right life. That's all we know about the story, but Ruffalo will be joined by Laurence Fishburne and Enrico Casarosa, the latter also serving as the film's director.

By far the most intriguing aspect of Gatto is its unique aesthetic, which will fuse a 2D hand-painted style with computer animation, ensuring that if nothing else, Gatto is going to look like no other film Pixar has ever produced.

Whether it makes bank remains to be seen, but at least it looks set to be one of the most visually creative animated films of the entire decade.

Gatto releases March 5, 2027.
