Why you'll love it: You remember being a kid right? You also remember running around outside, saving the world? (I was always pretending to be Johnny Depp's Tom Hansen from 21 Jump Street, that's unfortunately true) The Incredibles is all your childhood ambitions wrapped up nice and served to you on a beautiful, animated platter. Thanks again, Pixar! Crazy superheroes, crazier antics, and an even crazier climax -- the Incredibles is one of the most exciting animated films of all time. The genius of Pixar has always been making movies that appeal to children and adults alike. It glosses kid's eyes over while reminding us adults what it feels like to be a kid again. Why mom will love it: It's all about the family. The film centers around a family of superheroes and how they feel lost in the world once they retire. The "normal" family antics are fairly weighted and offer levity to a narrative that could become ridiculous. There's also the matter of Holly Hunter's Elastigirl -- supermom. We all can agree that mom's are practically superheroes already and it's a nice feeling for mom to sit down and watch a movie celebrating a woman who is super, not only for her special power, but also for being an awesome mom.
