Why you'll love it: Epic. This movie is epic in scope. A story of a man overcoming all of life's obstacles. It's very life affirming. Tom Hanks is incredible in the title role and Gary Sinise steals every scene he is in as, Lt. Dan. By the end of the film, you feel as if you've just lived through decades of Americana. You'll marvel at the technical wizardry that allowed Tom Hanks to be placed into scenes throughout our history but it's the quieter moments that will resonate. A movie that will remind you of what it feels like to be alive. Why mom will love it: Actually, for many of the same reasons. There's a reason Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved actors of our time -- he appeals to everyone. Playing a man who loves his mother to no end will really put mom in the mood to hopefully cook for you by the time the movie is over (a double win for you fellas). Every mom loves the idea of her son learning from and using the lessons she taught him in his youth and this movie reaffirms that notion. It's a movie about the circle of life, of motherhood and fatherhood -- of all the moments in between our birth and death.
