9. Edwin - Predators

While you can't say that casting Topher Grace as a vicious serial killer in Predators was an inherently obvious thing to do, for anyone who gave the story much critical thought it should've been clear where things were going.

The film revolves around a group of strangers who find themselves hunted down by Predators on an alien world, with the group consisting of soldiers, assassins, death row inmates and so on.

Basically, everyone in the group is a killer, apparently save for Grace's character Edwin, a doctor whose presence among the set becomes a mystery from early on.

And employing a little Occam's razor here, what would make more sense than the seemingly harmless Edwin actually being a secret killer himself? 

After all, everything we know about the Predators says that they pick worthy adversaries for their hunt, so what could they possibly want with a squirrelly doctor?

Between this and his early identification of a poisonous neurotoxin on a plant, it shouldn't have been all that surprising when Edwin eventually revealed himself to be a vicious serial killer.
