Muse€™s first album, Showbiz, was definitely not as over-the-top and exciting as the ones that followed, which is why it receives a low ranking. Despite this, it€™s still amazing. It is rather unlike anything they went on to create. Showbiz doesn€™t follow themes of conspiracies, politics and world order; instead the songs are about personal relationships and the struggle to establish themselves as a band in their home town. The album also doesn€™t use as wide an array of instruments, for which they are now known. However, they still use a considerable amount to create the albums aggressive, punky sound. It€™s sad to think that the band rarely plays the songs of this album live anymore. Despite the initial moderate success of Showbiz, it holds some of Muse€™s best work. Key Tracks: Sunburn, Unintended, Muscle Museum.
