3. The Gorgeous Visuals

For the many mistakes Jones makes creatively, it's hard to fault the film's impressive visual spectacle. Again, the world does feel overly indebted to Blade Runner - right from an early glimpse of a dust sweeper that feels ripped straight from it - but the general production design and visual effects quality help create a film that, above all else, is incredibly easy on the eyes.

Jones could definitely have done more with his shot selections, which sometimes feel rushed and a little too TV-esque for their own good, but from moment to moment, it's a handsomely mounted effort that makes it a little easier to put up with the film's scripted pitfalls.
