8. Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story
Mr. Irrelevant: The John Tuggle Story is the sure-to-be-devastating biopic of NFL running back John Tuggle, who was the final pick in the 1983 NFL draft and passed away from cancer in 1986 aged just 25.
Now, you needn't have an interest in American football to appreciate the fundamental human interest aspect of Tuggle's story, and despite passing away a full 40 years ago, his courage and determination has kept him an indelible figure in NFL history.
Tuggle will be played by Superman himself, David Corenswet, who looks like a perfect fit for the part, while directing duties will be undertaken by Jonathan Levine (The Wackness, 50/50, The Night Before).
Needless to say, if this film turns out even half-way good, there won't be a dry eye in the house when it releases this Christmas.
In a sea of generic Wikipedia Page Movie biopics, this should be a distinctive and uncommonly affecting entry.
