Despite this talented Aussie being my personal choice to play Bats himself, I dont see Warner Brothers investing in a franchise with an actor approaching 40. So why not give him the next best role? Not only is he currently hot property in Hollywood (Great Gatsby, Warrior), hes proven he can rock a tash AND glasses simultaneously. With the on-screen temperament that would complement the character of James Gordon perfectly, its hard not to see him suiting the role perfectly. Edgerton has come a long way since playing a young Uncle Owen in the Star Wars Prequels. Acclaimed performances in Acolytes, Animal Kingdom and Warrior have hopefully paved the way for the actor to take on a more mainstream role like Gordon. Lets hope at the very least Warner can get Edgerton in some role for their constantly in development Justice League universe before Marvel snap him up.
