Thats right. Batman vs. Superman. Im not going to patronise you with an explanation of who Superman is. Youre better than that. Suffice to say this would be a definitive big screen answer to the age-old question: just who would win in a fight between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel? How it Could Work: If Lex Luthor has been introduced to the story, then Superman has practically already been included. Superman hears about Luthors Gotham-based shenanigans, flies over to save the day, but before he can, hes somehow subdued and controlled by his nemesis (maybe Luthor mixes Kryptonite with some of Poison Ivys mind control spores it's happened before). Et voila: instant Batman vs. Superman. Who Could Play Him: Henry Cavill, obviously. From the Man of Steel trailer, Cavill looks to me like a near-perfect likeness and if hes going to be the face of the new Superman Movie, and go on to be Superman in the Justice League movie, theres really no other preferable choice. Likelihood: Well, lets look at the facts; there have been rumblings of a big screen Batman/Superman showdown for years. Whenever it happens in the comics, its practically a guaranteed fan-pleaser. And do you remember the reference to this idea in the Will Smith vehicle, I Am Legend? One of the movie billboards in the post-apocalypse New York City had an advertisement for some kind of Batman/Superman movie. Remember how nuts everyone went over that? If Warner Bros. truly want to get us ready for a Justice League movie, theres no better way in my eyes then putting Batman and Superman together, at the same time, in one or more of the movies released in the lead up. So who knows. Its about as likely as anything else at this stage. But christ, itd be awesome. So there it is; 10 new villains that wed love to see stirring trouble for Gotham in the near future.
