4. Faces of Death

While there weren't many people clamouring for a legacy sequel-of-sorts to 1978's infamous horror film Faces of Death, the fact that this follow-up was co-written and directed by Cam and How to Blow Up a Pipeline filmmaker Daniel Goldhaber should've roused a little more excitement.

Instead, after years of being stuck in post-production purgatory, it was basically sent out to die back in April where it grossed just $2.6 million worldwide.

This might all point to a lackluster film that just didn't come together, but that's not true at all.

This bold, tantalising meta sequel manages to be both a deeply creepy horror film about the perils of online culture and a clever examination of the original movie's legacy.

Barbie Ferreira and especially Dacre Montgomery are excellent in the lead roles, while Goldhaber swiftly establishes an uneasy mood that carries through to the very last haunting frame.

Whether Faces of Death 2026 picks up enough steam to become a cult classic remains to be seen, but we can only hope.
