20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck

3. Run

You needn't know anything more about last year's thriller Run than that it was directed by Uwe Boll - the infamous filmmaker behind the terrible likes of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Bloodrayne, Postal, and so many other utterly dreadful films.

Boll seemingly retired in the mid-2010s to become a restauranteur though duly un-retired in 2022, with one of his first new projects being this thriller about a group of desperate migrants arriving on the Italian coast.

You don't need to even watch the trailer to know the caliber production you're getting here, even accepting the wildly overqualified likes of Amanda Plummer and Barkhad Abdi among the cast.

But Boll certainly isn't a filmmaker anyone should turn to for an intelligent or even remotely nuanced examination of the plight facing immigrants, and true to the man's entire filmography spanning more than three decades, this is almost impressively dire stuff.

At least he's consistent?
