Sadly, 2012 was the year of Fifty Shades of Grey - the three books took over the book charts, despite the poor quality of writing and a central character arc that made absolutely no sense, and turned women worldwide into porn-loving sado-masochists with a penchant for Ian Somerhalder types. But then who wouldn't love a billionaire who'd spank you in the bedroom to within an inch of your life before showing off his good heart and abandoning everything he ever knew to settle down with you. In many ways Christian Grey was just like Nolan's Bruce Wayne. The film is coming. God help us all, but we can't stop that, despite it being obvious to anyone with half a brain that whoever makes it is going to end up making Showgirls 2. And there's no way any actor with any kind of reputation is going to want to star in it, considering how notoriously bad doing rude films is for careers.
