It must have been a slow weekend at the box office when Bangkok Dangerous hit theaters; despite opening at the top of the domestic charts the movie earned a paltry $7.8m, and ultimately failed to recoup its $45m budget. Which is pretty much what it deserved, because the Pang Brothers' remake of their own debut feature is nothing short of terrible. Nicolas Cage completely phones in his performance in the movie, which came as a huge disappointment because even when his movies suck you can at least guarantee a couple of classic Cage freakouts. But it wasn't to be, with the whole po-faced seriousness of his acting completely negated by the monstrosity that adorned his head, a greasy mullet that resembled the follicles of Tom Hanks' character from The Da Vinci Code.
