Still regarded as one of the best performances of his career almost 30 years later, Nicolas Cage's turn as H.I. McDunnough in the Coen's comedy went a long way to establishing the 23 year-old as one of the finest young character actors in the business. Of course, with this being Nic Cage, he also manages to look completely ridiculous. The mustache, sideburns and questionable fashion sense go a long way to establishing the character as a seasoned and not particularly competent criminal, but the hair is what really makes it. The actor probably had to spend a long time in the make-up chair to attain a hairdo that manages to remain so consistently unkempt, with the result maintaining a place in the upper echelons of the 'Nic Cage Hair Hall of Fame' for nearly three decades.
