It's always a good sign when you can get at least some of the original creative minds onboard a reboot project, and though co-creator Kevin Eastman is working on the film as a consultant, he couldn't possibly sound anymore unenthusiastic and hollow with his hyperbole when discussing the film. He flippantly refers to it as "awesome" and "easily the best Turtles film yet", despite the fact that it hasn't even started shooting yet, so it's difficult to hold his comments with any credence whatsoever. Peter Laird, the other co-creator, is not at all involved with the project and has thus been a lot more open about what he thinks of it. Though he told fans to wait until the full details of the project had been unveiled, he did refer to the notion of the turtles being aliens as "ill-conceived", and is clearly opposed to it. Given that it's easy to assume Eastman is taking an easy payday while Laird has complete disconnect from the project, one can't get too enthused about either of their chimings in on the film.
