And neither will Hayden Christensen.

Although he may be the galaxy's most iconic and loveable rogue, don't be expecting Han Solo to pop in upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One.

Even before Alden Ehrenreich was confirmed to be picking up the famous blaster and donning the vest of a young Han Solo, rumours were flying around that the character would have a cameo in the first standalone Star Wars film. He'd certainly be around in the timeframe of the film, and it would be a way of connecting the dots between this one and the Han Solo movie, but Han appearing with Rebels before A New Hope didn't make that much sense.

Now director Gareth Edwards has shot those rumours down, telling Extra:

"I’m not sure if I’m allowed to do this, but I think I should. I can put to bed, Han Solo is not in the movie."

Just incase that's not a definitive enough answer, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also confirmed we shouldn't expect to see the scruffy-looking nerfherder in Rogue One - and while she was in the mood for debunking rumours, Kennedy also stamped out the rumours of Hayden Christensen showing up in Rogue One (phew!).

Guess we'll just have to wait until 2018 to see the new Han Solo in action. Unless they're lying, of course.
