Well, what a difference a few days makes.

Earlier in the week it was reported that Logan might have a post-credits scene, likely setting up one of the many future X-Men universe films.

It initially stemmed from an extra few minutes being added on to the runtime, marking a difference from the version screened for critics, before Collider's Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub reported it as being true.

In an update to the story, however, he now notes that there is NO post-credits scene, which makes a lot of sense. Based on what we've seen of the tone of Logan, the time it takes place in, and its finality in being the last outing for Hugh Jackman, it'd be hard to find something that really fit. Director James Mangold confirmed this was in the case in the following tweet.

However, Weintraub does note that there is likely to be something extra in the movie, quite possibly taking place before it starts. He describes it as being "something cool for the fans", but exactly what that might be is thankfully being kept under wraps for now. It's an unusual move, but everything we've heard so far suggests Mangold and Jackman have really made the film they wanted, so it should fit with that.

Logan's been getting great reviews, and should be a fitting farewell to Jackman. It's released in theatres March 3.
