Logan: Is There A Secret Post-Credits Scene?
Maybe it's worth sticking around after the credits after all?
Rather wonderfully, it looks like Logan is everything Wolverine fans have wanted it to be since it was first announced. Well, at least without the ability to actually be a pure adaptation of Old Man Logan obviously, but that's not Fox's fault by any means. The reviews springing forth from the Berlin Film Festival premiere have lavished praise on James Mangold's trilogy ender (like it or not, Origins does count), and the hype has been turned up to 11 ahead of its wider global release.
But something interesting has also happened: since that debut, which didn't have any sort of post-credits stinger, an additional three minutes have been tagged on to the film, suggesting a different cut to the one critics have seen.
Inevitably, the suggestion seems to be that Fox have sneakily withheld a post-credits scene as a gift to real ticket-buying cinema-goers, just as they did with X-Men: Apocalypse? The studio are somewhat inevitably keeping quiet, but it's awfully suspicious, and while the film is set in a "slightly different universe" to the other X-Men films (let's just ignore the fact that this makes no sense, shall we?), Fox still have obligations to their shared universe and they could be building hype for something else.
Maybe we'll get to see a flash of the Dark Phoenix Saga that we've seen hinted as the next mainline X-Men movie? Or a look ahead to New Mutants? There are several possibilities even as the film brings Hugh Jackman's run as Wolverine to a close.
