No Trick 'r Treat this year after all

By Matt Holmes /

It would seem the original story of Trick 'r Treat being pushed back to early next year was actually correct. Saw IV really did kill off the fun looking slasher flick which will now have to open between January and March 08... which is just going to be weird. Although not directly Saw's fault, it still makes me pissed at them. I use to remember Halloween being full of horror flicks, usually decent one's too but now-a-days, it's Saw or the latest flashy slasher flick with good looking women who can't act. There isn't any other alternative. Let's look at this year's Halloween offerings... WRONG TURN 2 (a sequel to a pathetic horror movie that no-one cared about). 30 DAYS OF NIGHT (although I wasn't overwhelmed by the trailer, at least it looks to be something different for us. I'm banking on this being the best movie this Halloween and thank God it has the balls to go up against the mighty Saw). SAW IV and by my reckoning that is it. A little depressing for a genre that is so baldy in need of a revival. source - bloody disgusting
