One Mind Blowing Secret From Every MCU Movie

5. Monica Rambeau's Title - The Marvels

Though it may have ultimately hurt the film, with mainstream audiences not necessarily fully caught up on the ever-growing MCU in 2023, seeing Captain Marvel crossover with two characters from Disney+ was one of the most exciting aspects for fans of the franchise.

Of course, there was Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who had led the Ms. Marvel series which led directly into The Marvels, but there was also Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), a character who had appeared in Captain Marvel as a young child, before eventually gaining powers throughout the events of WandaVision.

In the comics, Monica has had several different superhero monikers, including Photon, Pulsar, and Spectrum, and naturally, there was a lot of speculation as to what she would go by in the MCU. This was something that ultimately wasn't addressed on screen in The Marvels, but was let slip during the director's commentary, when Special Effects Supervisor Tara DeMarco made a reference to her as Photon.

The fact that this decision was seemingly made behind the scenes but not explicitly revealed makes it seem as though it was kept secret for a reason, potentially for a bigger reveal down the line. With Monica in the X-Men universe alongside an alternate version of her mother, Binary (Lashana Lynch), by the end of The Marvels Monica will likely have a role to play in the future, though her big superhero reveal may have been spoiled just a little bit already.
