All kidding aside, Ang Lee's been known for works that meditate on fulfilment and progress in one's life. How one lives, how one attains (or denies) happiness, and ultimately becoming a balanced person. Circle back and apply that to what's also an visually-arresting spectacular that includes themes of survival, endurance, and ultimately co-operation, and you've got a contender. Doesn't look so silly now, does it?
