However, Argo was a return to form for the medium budget studio movie that appeals to a large and varied audience. A box office smash and a critical darling, Warner Bros. is proud to have a film that can achieve success on multiple fronts €“ something that hasn€™t been accomplished quite so often in recent years. Remember that films of this sort were quite common in the past, think for example of The French Connection or The Godfather. Hollywood is happy to see the good old days, when movies didn€™t have to cost $150 million and feature CGI heavy scenes to make an impression.
