The ending of the Oscars was a huge plot twist, coming from out of nowhere to give a huge surprise to a night that had mostly (if not wholly) gone as expected.

With such a ridiculous twist occurring, there could of course be only one man responsible: M. Night Shyamalan.
He director made a return to form earlier this year with Split, and delivered an even bigger shocker here, taking full credit for the ending.
