Suicide Squad won an Oscar for Best Hair and Make-Up.

What Should Have Happened

Suicide Squad should not have won an Oscar for Best Hair and Make-Up.

Putting aside the argument that giving the terrible film an Oscar cheapens the awards ceremony and calls into question the entire system of acknowledgement, the hair and make-up in Suicide Squad wasn't even the best of the year. Star Trek Beyond's aliens were far broader in design and far more visually arresting and far more worthy of note than Killer Croc's look (the best of the film), Harley and The Joker's paint-work and those bloody awful eye monsters.

They were not well designed, they were a muddy mess.
