12. Achievement In Production Design

Production Design is usually split between big blockbusters and period dramas, and things should be no different this year. So much so, in fact, that one of the major frontrunners is a bit of both: Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, a Harry Potter-sized movie set in a gorgeous 1920s New York.

Another movie that combines period with plenty of scope and ambition is Hail, Caesar!, so this gives the Coens' movie a good chance for some recognition. La La Land will no doubt get a nod too (and has a good chance of getting the win, since it'll be the go-to option for many voters), with the likes of Jackie, Silence, Arrival, and Rogue One competing for the last two spots.
