A bit of an interesting narrative here, in that John Williams could well be fighting *against* Star Wars for a spot on the nominees list, with his work on The BFG in contention (mostly because it's Williams) alongside Michael Giacchino's Rogue One score.

Elsewhere, Justin Hurwitz is a lock for La La Land, as is Nicholas Brutell's work on Moonlight. Lion (Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka), Jackie (Mica Levi), and Nocturnal Animals (Abel Korzeniowski) are in with a good chance as well.
