Oscars 2017: Predicting All The Nominees

22. Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role

This one should come down to a two-horse race, between House of Cards star Mahershala Ali for his performance in Moonlight, and veteran Jeff Bridges for Hell or High Water.

Those two are complete locks, with the only question being who'll be the also-rans. Dev Patel's moving performance in Lion and Hugh Grant's return to form in Florence Foster Jenkins should secure the pair nominations, and what's left will probably be a fight between Nocturnal Animals actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Michael Shannon, with Manchester By The Sea's Lucas Hedges star-making turn looking to muscle in too. The surprise Globes win for Taylor-Johnson likely won't be repeated, but does give him the edge for a nomination.

Likely Nominees (Predicted Winner In Bold):

Mahershala Ali (Moonlight)

Jeff Bridges (Hell Or High Water)

Hugh Grant (Florence Foster Jenkins)

Dev Patel (Lion)

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Nocturnal Animals)
