10. Shock: John Williams Gets Nominated For The Wrong Musical Score

John Williams once again broke his own record as the most-nominated person in Oscar history by scoring his 51st nomination for Star Wars: The Last Jedi's musical score.

Though on paper this perhaps doesn't sound that surprising, it is when you consider that Williams' other score last year, for Steven Spielberg's The Post, was widely expected to be the one to land a nomination.

Considering that The Post's score was effortlessly superior to The Last Jedi's more workmanlike and over-familiar musical arrangement, it feels like people just voted for comfortable familiarity and for Williams' legacy rather than anything else.
