The short film categories are also tough to call if only because so little is known about most of them outside of the voting body itself.
Though the documentary short category has benefitted from Netflix's involvement in recent years - they've released four of this year's 10 shortlisted films on their platform already - the only short category that really gets people talking is the animated one.
That's in large part due to the presence of Pixar, who immediately become a frontrunner any time they participate, which is practically every year. As a result, their short Kitbull is the only concrete lock.
