It sure would be amazing to see Parasite become the first ever foreign language Best Picture winner, but obviously, the odds aren't in its favour, even with its historic SAG ensemble win.

The cynical brain says that older Oscar voters will go for the more comfortable familiarity of 1917. After all, can we really accept that the voting body which gave Green Book Best Picture last year will spring for something as adventurous as Parasite this time?

That's not to thumb the nose at 1917, though, which will be a thoroughly deserving winner in its own right.
