There are four clear films at the front of the pack here due to receiving nods from both the American Society of Cinematographers and Critics' Choice, with the fifth slot being fought out between West Side Story and Nightmare Alley.
It's an interesting battle given that both films are lavish, beautifully shot productions that bombed at the box office.
Though Nightmare Alley has ASC and Critics' Choice support while West Side Story missed out on the former, the generally far stronger praise for Spielberg's film might push it over the top.
