Like the Best Documentary category, this one can be frustratingly schizophrenic at times, with sure-fire, critically acclaimed hits missing out completely.

But A Hero, Drive My Car, and The Hand of God feel like dead-certain nominees, having support from both Critics' Choice and the Golden Globes, with Drive My Car ultimately winning the Golden Globe.

Flee and The Worst Person in the World have such thunderous universal praise that there would be flat-out outrage if either were snubbed, while outside potentials Compartment No. 6, Lamb, and I'm Your Man likely haven't mustered the buzz necessary to sneak into the five.
