Australian film-maker Phillip Noyce is in talks to direct The Art of Money according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Dreamworks project centers on Art Williams, the alias of a notorious counterfeiter who printed more than $10 million in fake dollar bills using original and cutting-edge techniques and wasn't even fazed into stopping when he had been caught and warned by the F.B.I.

Newcomer Frank Baldwin will adapt the screenplay based on Jason Kersten's 2005 profile of the thief in Rolling Stones magazine. A book adaptation is also expected. Noyce - probably best known for his two "Jack Ryan" flicks with Harrison Ford (Clear and Present Danger and Patriot Games), last helmed the 2006 Tim Robbins terrorism movie Catch a Fire. He will soon begin working on his next feature, a biopic of Mary Queen of Scots which perplexy has American Scarlett Johansson who looks nothing like the Scottish Queen - to star. That movie should be out before the end of the year.
