Pitch Perfect 3 Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs

With the recent release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, even hardcore Pitch Perfect fans might've forgotten that the third and apparently final entry into the series waltzes into cinemas this week.

With its weirdly low-key marketing campaign and the sinking feeling that Universal are quietly dumping it in a busy holiday period, it was hard to be optimistic about this one ahead of time.

Surprise, surprise, then: Pitch Perfect 3 is not a good film, with most critics agreeing that it's a hugely underwhelming low-point for the series, with a Rotten Tomatoes score around half that of the first movie, and hugely below the flawed-but-fun second film.

The most devoted Bella fans will still get some easy giggles out of the talented cast and snappy musical renditions, but for most everyone else, this just feels like a typical lazy sequel churned-out for easy cash and nothing more. In a word, it's embarrassing...
