Predicting Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4

Avengers: Infinity War is far from the end.

With Marvel's Phase 3 promising a mix of sequels telling beloved comic stories and big screen debuts of new characters, the MCU looks set to scale to even greater heights. Who could possibly have thought that was even possible? But while that run of films will culminate in the potentially universe changing Infinity War, the story that we've believed for a long time was the series' ultimate goal, it's far from the end. Marvel have announced previously they have plans all the way up to 2028, meaning we're not even halfway through this mega-franchise yet. Thinking about what the future holds, we've come up with a prediction of what the next phase of movies could include. There's a lot of factors to consider - certain stories are out of bounds due to rights issues, while many actors are nearing the end of their contracted set-picture deals (in that regard we're counting Avengers: Infinity War as one film) - but there's enough hints at Marvel's game plan for us to have a solid stab at it...

Honourable Mention - Other Possible Films

There's simply not space in an upcoming slate to give every character their own movie and thus there's some that we don't see making their own standalone appearance in Phase 4. These include some of the recently announced new heroes, not based on their viability, but that moving forward they're probably best utilised as part of the wider Avengers roster. Then there's Iron Man 4, the most hotly anticipated potential sequel (at least in terms of coverage) and one that likewise seems a little perfunctory. Robert Downey Jr. isn't locked into it and while there has been a real (i.e. not an actor) version of the Mandarin hinted at in short films, it would likely rob focus from the new heroes Marvel is trying to introduce.
