The two Robert Langdon movies released to date haven't exactly been critical darlings (2006's The Da Vinci Code scored 25% and 2009's Angels and Demons 37%), and it's going to be a struggle to make an improved threequel almost a decade later.
Expect praise for the cast and possibly the action sequences, but the story will be dismissed as pure hokey nonsense just as it was in the previous movies. In short, critics will struggle to find reason for this movie happening beyond lining the pockets of Columbia's executives.
