Forever touted as a potentially good Bond girl, Deadline reports that it's the Bourne franchise that has come calling for British actress Rachel Weisz - the beauty entering 'deep' talks for Universal's The Bourne Legacy. If she accepts the gig she would follow in the footsteps of Franke Potente and Julia Stiles as the female character/love interest, neither of whom really made THAT much of an impact in the series. Certainly not Bond girl impact, though I guess Potente was ok in the first. Gearing up to shoot this September under the direction of Tony Gilroy and starring Jeremy Renner in the lead role as a new Operation Treadstone agent... the movie is a 'continuation' of the events of the previous trilogy but won't have any involvement from Matt Damon or Paul Greengrass. Deadline say Weisz is expected to take the gig if she can sort out scheduling with Walt Disney's Oz: The Great and Powerful (directed by Sam Raimi) that she was offered a role in last week and shoots this summer. It might be a case she is only able to do one.
