2. The Villains Are Awful

In fairness, the Rambo series has never exactly been known for its memorable villains beyond First Blood's brilliant Sheriff Teasle (Brian Dennehy), but even so, the Martinez brothers (Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Óscar Jaenada) are an especially weak pairing.

In addition to their utterly uncompelling motives for facing off against Rambo, the characters are largely lacking in personality and screen presence. It's tough to fault the actors when, as written, there's so little here to work with.

But the two get so little screen time overall that, when Rambo inevitably launches his revenge crusade against them, the visceral satisfaction you'd expect isn't really felt.
