Box Office: The $3.8 million French horror flick has grossed around $1 million worldwide to date, but owing to its super-limited release, it'll probably end up a success on VOD.

Verdict: Absolutely not for the squeamish, this grim tale about a young French medical student's disturbing introduction to meat-eating boasts brief, deeply unpleasant flashes of gore amid a fascinating study of sisterhood and the French fraternity experience.

Garance Marillier gives an incredibly brave, committed performance in the central role, and writer-director Julia Ducournau makes one Hell of a future debut.

Seriously, don't eat while watching this, though.
