Box Office: It's just barely crossed the $70,000 mark worldwide, so regardless of budget (which is estimated at $4 million), this one's a flop.

Verdict: Natalie Portman commands respect for adaptating Israeli author Amos Oz's autobiographical novel for her directorial debut, and though the pacing is all over the place, Portman is clearly tirelessly devoted to her subject matter, and mostly pays it solid tribute.

Extra credit to Portman who not only stars in the film but also speaks fluent Hebrew throughout, and while it will be too sober and slow for many tastes, for those with an interest in Israel's history, it's a must-see.
