14. Bird Box

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 65% (5.9/10)

Box Office: Direct to Netflix, though it's worth noting that it scored a record-breaking 45 million views during its first week on the platform alone.

Verdict: While not living up to its lofty awards hype, Susanne Bier makes the most of a game Sandra Bullock in this tense, atmospheric and consistently compelling post-apocalyptic horror.

It certainly could've done more with its cast and the constant switching-up between timelines does its momentum no favours at all, but Bird Box does enough dramatically and emotionally to be more than just "A Quiet Place for sight."

If critics were a little more lukewarm on Bird Box, general audiences seem to be loving it.
